Contexte et objectifs
This national body, which works in the field of materials to standardise and certify products, to prescribe and monitor their use, wanted to equip a tensile testing machine with a versatile and accurate measurement system in order to carry out their assessments and certification of products and services relating to steel for reinforced concrete and rebar.
Requirement
In order to carry out the certification of products and services related to steels for reinforced concrete and rebars, the laboratory carries out tensile tests in accordance with standard EN ISO 15630-3.
In order to accurately measure deformations in these materials, it needed a non-contact system that would enable it to do so until the sample broke, while preventing the extensometer from breaking.
Constraints
  • Measuring base L0 ≥ 600 mm for tensile test.
  • Configuration on an existing traction machine.
  • Measuring range: between 30 mm and 50 mm and between 600 mm and 1000 mm.
  • Accuracy: class 0.5 (according to ISO 9513 standard) up to force Rp0.1 and minimum class 1 (still according to ISO 9513 standard) thereafter until rupture. Compatible with sample rupture (for measuring the elongation at rupture according to standard NF EN ISO 15630--3)
  • Acquisition frequency > 50 measurements/s
  • Synchronization of all machine and extensometer data (Force, elongations, displacement and real time transmission to the control software)

Solution
