Detection and measurement of crack propagation

The crack option of the VideoTraction software range offers the user the possibility of better knowing and understanding the future stresses on the part or structure.

Indeed, in-depth knowledge of the material will lead to better product design in the broad sense.

In order to precisely monitor and measure the crack propagation during fatigue loading, we have developed this version of VideoTraction.

It allows real-time, contactless, local and precise crack advancement measurement during fatigue or tensile tests, on all types of ductile materials, whether metallic or polymeric. The software simultaneously sends the information to machine control software, which makes regulation possible according to the crack advance k constant, ΔK constant, etc.
The user also has the possibility of retrieving, via an analog or digital signal, force and position of machine crosshead and graphically visualizing the data curves…

It is also possible to save images, videos and data in a .csv or .dat file to be able to process the data later.

It is also possible to measure the COD (Crack Opening Displacement) in real time, in addition to the crack propagation.
